Proper fingering of piano scales is one of the most important factor in developing ones skills and advancement of being a pianist. If you already have an experience in playing the piano, then you must be aware that you should enhance your skills in order for you to reach a different kind of expertise. We all know that many people hate the idea of training and they often times look down on it.

So does practicing piano scales makes sense? Practicing scales on a piano does make sense. In fact, many people who are trying to learn the piano knows that practicing scales and other types of exercises belong to a proper classical piano education.  Having all the classical elements of learning the piano created a bad image. Since learning piano scales are now associated with boring lessons and teachers who aren’t any fun at all. In worst cases, these endless lessons of scales and broken chords are among the reasons why piano students quit playing and learning how to play the piano altogether. So are piano scales really that necessary? Well, it may be very possible to do without much of the senseless practicing of scales. An example of this is by learning scales and broken chords and the entire major and minor keys in unnecessary for a person that has no idea or hasn’t even played a single piece. The main reason why you should practice scales is that fact that it will affect the music which you will be creating in the end since music is made up of scales and chords. That is why learning them and knowing them in an organize manner makes sense. Learning the scales will also help you to adapt and not taken by surprise every time they show in the music that you are playing. That is why making students learn scales is among the challenges which piano teachers are facing. If they don’t properly understand it, then they probably won’t be able to learn anything at all. So here is a good example to start making sense on scales. The first thing that you need to do is to look at a piece which you would like to play well. The second thing that you need to do is to look if there are scales or broken chords in the piece that you have chosen. If they appear, take you r first steps towards practicing these scales.

To learn the proper fingerings by practicing the piano scales and the broken chords will save you a lot of time. Remember to always keep in mind that you should play your scales and broken chords with care and musical feeling. They should be considered as exercises that are melodic and not just ordinary music that is being played. If that does not catch their attention, then try another piece and practice it instead.
